    There are many ways that mushrooms have proven to be a healthy food choice. They are loaded with protein, vitamins B, C & D, folic acic, iron, fiber, amd are a great source for necessary antioxidents. Antioxidents help decrease inflamation in the body, offer disease prevention and improvement of overall mental and physical health. The cooking of the mushrooms releases the nutrients into our bodies for optimal health.
  • Why are mushrooms often called a "Superfood"?"
    Mushrooms are packed with healthy nutrients that serve many nutritional purposes in our bodies. Our primary species is oyster mushrooms Oyster mushrooms provide dietary fiber, beta-glucan, and other ingredients that may boost health. They have a delicate taste and can be used to add flavor to a wide variety of savory dishes. This strain of mushrooms contain a number of substances thought to influence health, including dietary fiber, beta-glucan, and several other polysaccharides—a class of carbohydrates found to affect immune function. They also can increase metabolic health, reduce the risk of cancer and promote heart health.
  • What makes these mushrooms be considered "organically grown"?"
    Our mushrooms are grown in a specially built barn designed for the purpose of growing mushrooms in a natural and controlled environment. There are no chemicals used in the production of these beauties.
  • Why are these mushrooms called "Mission Mushrooms"?"
    These mushrooms are being grown with one major goal in mind - to sustain the developmemt of Providence Veterans Farm so it can continue to positively impact the lives of veterans and their families. They will be able to provide meaningful employment to veterans and allow us a continual source of revenue to allow us to be sustainable over the long term.
